Target Skill Sheets In order to teach skills and strategies in an easy and quick manner, Chirp Consulting has created Target Skill sheets. These sheets are a great way to train and equip your team so that volunteers are confident and better prepared to support children. Target Skill sheets use language that a layperson without any knowledge of special education can easily understand. Target Skill sheetsg give concrete examples that help volunteers put their new knowledge into practice. Sheets can be purchased in digital form. When you purchase a Target Skill sheet, you have the right to photocopy and distribute the sheets to members of your team and parents of your students only during the calendar year of the purchase (listed at the bottom of the sheet near the copyright information).
It is recommended that team leaders present and train on only one skill every 2 months in order to provide repetition and time for volunteers to practice their new skills. It is also recommended that team leaders watch for and celebrate use of the new skill. Ideas for success are included with each Target Skill.
Target Skill sheets available are listed in order of preferred presentation.
Short (10-15 minute) videos are in development that are designed to be used in conjunction with the Target Skill sheets. This will enable your volunteers to see the strategies in action.
