Toys & Equipment:

Dinosaur Spinners
Other spinners work, too!  The spinning and the lights (and the dinosaurs in this case!) are highly motivating and soothing for many people.

Gearation
This is a fantastic toy for providing visual sensory input.
It's very soothing and appealing for people of all ages and abilities.

Mindware's Marble Run
All marble runs are not equal - this is my favorite!

Picture
Nest Swing
Kids love the sensation of being surrounded and slightly off balance due to the inflatable pillow in the bottom (pillow included!)

Picture
Party disco ball
This is a great tool for increasing visual input and getting kids engaged!
Please be cautious about children who have seizure disorders or who are prone to dizziness or overstimulation.

Picture
Time Timer
This is the best timer for helping kids grasp and internalize the passing of time.

Picture
Light-Up Spinner
This toy is another great one for getting kids engaged in music & movement time!  It's also great for working on cause & effect and motor skills (the lights only spin when the child holds down a button).

Picture
Wooden Car Ramp
This ramp is enthralling for people of all ages!  It's relaxing, sturdy, and extra cute, too.  Great for providing visual sensory input.

Picture
Penguin RunThis is another great toy for providing visual sensory input.  Kids love the adorable penguins and how they climb the stairs, then slide down independently.  It's a good idea to REMOVE the speaker if you know how because the music is annoying and unnecessary!)

Picture
Body Sox
These great tools come in a variety of sizes to fit the sizes of your students.  Body Sox are snug, but stretchy, and the person inside gets excellent proprioceptive sensory feedback to the joint, ligaments, and tendons.

Weighted Vest
This denim version is great because it doesn't look different from what peers might be wearing!

'A "5" Could Make Me Lose Control! An Activity-Based Method For Evaluating And Supporting Highly Anxious Students' by Kari Dunn Buron
I can't express how WONDERFUL and HELPFUL this tool is for families and professionals, as well as the kids they're working to support.

"Visual Strategies For Improving Communication" by Linda HodgdonThis is the best book available on how to support children's developing communication skills by using visual supports

Picture
"It Takes Two To Talk" by Elaine WeitzmanThis book gives parents the tools to make early language intervention a natural, ongoing part of everyday life with their child.

Picture
"Solving Behavior Problems in Autism" by Linda Hodgdon
Equip yourself and your team on how to prevent behavior problems using visual strategies.  Applicable to children with a multitude of diagnoses, not just Autism.

Picture
"Do-Watch-Listen-Say: Social and Communication Intervention for Children with Autism" by Quill & Brusnahan
This book lists goals by category and then lists strategies for working on those goals.  Amazing!  This book is applicable to kids with a variety of different disorders, not just Autism.

"A Treasure Chest of Behavioral Strategies for Individuals with Autism" by Beth Fouse
Many great ideas for understanding, preventing, and coping with challenging behaviors in students with Autism or any other disorder.

Additional Resources & Software For Classroom Leaders:

* Mayer-Johnson's Boardmaker®
This is a fantastic software program for creating communication supports that take advantage of your students' native language: visuals!  I don't know how ANY classroom gets along without it!

* The Three Signs of a Miserable Job: A Fable for Managers (And Their Employees) by Patrick Lencioni
This book transformed how I support volunteers.  It definitely will change your team for the better!

* Now, Discover Your Strengths by Marcus Buckingham
